AI Order & Revenue Attribution
How Zoventic GEO tracks orders, referral revenue, and conversion ROI originating from ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini.
AI Order & Revenue Attribution
Knowing which AI search engines generate real revenue is essential for measuring your store’s return on investment (ROI).
Zoventic GEO includes a native, privacy-compliant Order Attribution Engine that connects incoming shopping visits to completed WooCommerce orders.
1. How Attribution Tracking Works
When an AI engine (like ChatGPT or Perplexity) suggests your product to a shopper, it links to your store URL using specific patterns:
- HTTP Referer Headers: Identifies incoming visits from domains like
chatgpt.com,perplexity.ai,claude.ai, orgemini.google.com. - AI Referral Coupon Tracking: When a shopper uses your configured AI referral discount code (e.g.,
AI10), the order is immediately tagged. - UTM Attribution Tags: Inspects incoming
utm_source=chatgptorutm_medium=ai_searchquery parameters.
2. Order Meta & Dashboard Reporting
When an attributed order completes, Zoventic GEO records the following data safely in standard WooCommerce order metadata:
- Source Engine: (e.g.
ChatGPT Search,Perplexity, orGoogle Gemini) - Attributed Revenue: Net order subtotal.
- Referral Timestamp: When the visit and checkout occurred.
You can inspect full attribution metrics inside the Overview Dashboard under AI Revenue Attribution, complete with vendor distribution pie charts and month-over-month growth trends.
